Updates and such...(I'm behind)

The Zinefair saw a fairly successful selling of my first (self-motivated) mini-comic product, "Bottom of the Stairs". One friend bought it because he was under the impression that it was a pornography. Despite the fact it wasn't, he was still very pleased with the story. Not sure how my direct family will take the book...more specifically my older brother, but it's already out there. It's gonna suck when he sees it.

On a lighter note, I've submitted a two-page story to my school's sampler/ anthology of graphic fiction. A brief tale of debt, desperation, and the all-American classic...arson. It's entitled "Moving Day".

BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS IS IN ITS FINAL STAGES!!!

I am currently pushing myself to make sure "Bottom of the Stairs" comes out on time for the SCAD Zinefair this weekend!! Time is tight, but things are looking up. And then down... and then steadily rising... AND THEN UP!!! This is besides the point though. "Bottom of the Stairs" is almost ready for printing, and when it is, copies will be sold at the ZINEFAIR. Hopefully, I'll be accepting orders if people really want them and I have any left over next week.

Sorry about the wicked long break in posting.

Finals in one of my drawing classes consumed a good deal of time, I'll be posting the last pages from that class as well as the few sketchbook comics I have from my week in North Carolina. To satisfy and salvage whatever I have left in terms of readers and followers, here are some sketches I did in my classes this last week... Philosophy has proven to be a most productive class in terms of art ironically enough.

This first, if I uploaded it properly, is of one of my best friends fighting a caterpillar, or just before that rather.

The second, should be a doodle of my girlfriend, that I did when I didn't have enough time to stop for lunch with her because of class. I drew it in class.

I'll find the pages from my final and HOPEFULLY my vacation comics and post them after I move to my new place this weekend.

Rollin' 20s pencils

I have been recently developing an idea with my good writer friend Will Getchell.  So far the concept has developed into 3...no, almost 4 scripts of what could be ultimately a 10 issue mini-comic epic.  Not much can be said of it right now because of the early stages of the project, but it's definitely going somewhere.  Sorry about the secrecy in terms of the story, and to show I am truly sorry, here are two pages of the first issue in the finished pencil stage.

Well...BALLS

Alright, it looks like I'm gonna close up this story sooner than I thought, and see about putting it out as a mini-book, mini-comic, and/or ashcan comic book (whichever name fits best).  It is without title right now, but whatever name I decide will become the title of my regular book, which will have different short stories with each printing.  Now to finish this tumorous piece of catharsis.

I've hit a snag...

My body is quite tired from the lack of nicotine, whereas my life outside of school is suffering from my lack of money...HMM.  Be that as it may, I have been continuing my project that I'm planning on submitting to one company or another, but then I'll have to wait a few months for my more than expected rejection letter.  Without a following these things are hard to get out.

Then again I have several pages to show the direction of the story, but it's not fleshed out completely.  I'm in the process of scanning them in now so they'll be up after I touch up the black and white levels on Photoshop.  A few samples.

I just realized I left the rest at my girlfriend's house because I was working on them there...I'll be back with some awesome pages.  The one's I like better... FRICK.

Let It Begin

I have created this blog to help provide updates to those who care to read and follow the progression of my art projects.  So, to start I am presently coming to the end of a project I started in January that I will hopefully be submitting to what appears to be a new(er) print-house, that I believe is based somewhere within New Jersey.  No company names will released, as I have no definite responses or absolutes at this time, but I will be posting a sample page of the work in question.

Thank You.

PS- Here's a smiley face.  I know you bitches love smiley faces. :)
